During a residency
at Langdale Primary and Nursery School, Leeds in 2000, I worked
with childres to produce a triptique, depicting the transformation
of the local Rothwell Colliery site into the Rothwell Country
Park (SCH1).
In the Summer of 2004 I had four residencies
at schools in and around Leeds. In connection with the “Maids
and Mistresses” exhibition
at Lotherton Hall, Leeds, I directed the making of large wall
hangings by children (aged 9 to 11) at three primary schools,
Aberford C.
of E. (SCH2), Micklefield
C. of E. (SCH3), and Saxton (SCH4).
Each involved input from a large number of children. At Langdale
School,
every pupil
(aged 4 to 11) made a small felted piece (SCH5).
These were assembled into a large banner.
